Here’s a collection of what I’ve been working on in recent weeks. I seem to be consistently involved in Logo and Branding projects these days…no complaints here. Logos can often be the key for everything else in a design, a source for colors and inspiration. It’s always good to see how often everything falls into place once a logo is created.
The Bearded Palm Brand logo for a client requesting a semi-rough sketch style logo of a bearded palm tree (I have a few in my front yard…beautiful trees). As of yet the logo is not in major use, but it should be featured on a blog and website soon and possibly also merchandise.
Devil in Drag Hollywood band Devil in Drag (check them out HERE) contracted me a bit ago to create a logo that hits on their blend of Hollywood sleaze and 80s cock-rock. I’ve known their Frontman Shane for awhile and when he first told me about it, I already had more than a few ideas kicking around. After only a few revisions these were their final picks. Check out the band (and the logo) and the link above.
DJ Sinister T LA-based DJ Sinister T, who i’ve also known for several years, hit me up about creating a logo, something that is both “sinister” but also has a good side (like the two voices in your head, leaning a bit more on the evil side of things). We went back and forth a bit exchanging ideas (I’m always a fan of client involvement in the creative process) and the logos above were selected as winners. Sinister T is currently using several versions (which I created) of this main logo concept. Personal favorite is the first, the simple logo with no background. What do you think? Check out DJ Sinister T HERE.
James Howard Hall Voiceover Site and Logo Design James is an LA-based voiceover actor who is getting back in the game and needed a professional and fully functional site. His agent also needed it to try to start booking him work in a very competitive market. The graphics above represent the visual identity of the site and respective logo. James grew up and spent most of his life in Malibu and felt this theme was important to the look and feel of the site. I am a web designer, not creator.I’ve left coding behind a long time ago (some regret involved, but within a few years coding won’t be used nearly as much as it is now) So using one of several, relatively powerful template based services I combined strong, original graphics and art to create a site that functions and looks unique. Instead of a portfolio page that is sterile and cold, his has personality and warmth. Hopefully it will help him get some gigs! Check him out HERE.
The Hipster This was just a quick doodle i made on my iPad (use paper by fifty-three). Elitist, unique (but strangely all the same), the hipster is easily recognized by a little mustache with questionable, too much chest, tapered tiny pants, new boots that look old, and often seen on a bicycle (not that theres anything wrong with that). In addition, their mating call is the sigh which can often be heard coming from the corner table in your local coffee shop. Strangely enough, I put this up in a few places (twitter, blogs, etc…) and got several emails requesting prints within days.
Thanks for Looking! Hope you enjoyed these, i’m currently about 3 projects deep (not too bad) and will be available soon if anyone needs any work done. Feel free to email me with any requests or just to start a dialogue. Have a great one. firstname.lastname@example.org
